HOW IT WORKS

1. PRODUCERS PROVIDE PRODUCT INFORMATION

Producers submit product information required under applicable food standards, along with additional factual information they choose to disclose.

This may include:

  • Ingredient lists
  • Nutrition information (as declared)
  • Product name and description
  • Origin information
  • Processing information
  • Packaging and handling information

All information must be complete, factual, and not misleading.

2. INFORMATION IS REVIEWED AND STRUCTURED

Nutrition Verified reviews the submitted information against the Verification Rules & Standards (NV 1.0).

Verification confirms that:

  • Information is accurate and consistent
  • Claims align with what is disclosed
  • No material is omitted or misrepresented

Once verified, the information is organised into a clear, structured product page.

Verification reflects information at a point in time, based on what is provided by the producer.

3. INFORMATION IS MADE ACCESSIBLE

Each verified product page is linked to a QR code or NFC tag.

When scanned, consumers can view:

  • Verified ingredients and nutrition information
  • Clear product descriptions
  • Additional context such as origin, processing, and packaging, where relevant

Verification applies to individual products, not brands.

WHAT NUTRITION VERIFIED DOES NOT DO

Nutrition Verified does not:

Certify products. Assess food safety. Make health or nutrition claims. Provide dietary, medical, or regulatory advice. Rank or recommend products.

Verification is about information accuracy, not outcomes.

FOR PRODUCERS

If your product relies on clear ingredients, disciplined claims, and transparency, Nutrition Verified provides a structured way to make that information visible.
